The members of tbe Unley City Ooundl
are enthusiastic workers in the direction
of the bsairtafication of the oity. They are
planting trees everywhere as fast as they
can obtain them, and never lose an opportunity
to add to the civic floriculture! and
orboncultural adornments. Furtherevidelic-e
cf this fact was provided at the meeting
of the council on Tuesday evening, when
Aid. Cooke proposed. "That a portion of
the asphalt in front of the municipal offices
be broken up, and the ground be prepared
for Planting, the details to be left to a
committee to be appointed by the council."
He said it was highly gratifying, not only
to the members of the council, but to the
citizens, to witness the aesthetic improvement
of the city, of which they were all
proud. At present the space in front of
tbe offices was practieairv bare and. unat

church grounds were sadly neglected, for
they could easily be made among the most
ornamental outside of Adelaide.
