Minafure Orange Tree
Here: is a novel way of growing a
miniature orange tree in an orange skin.

the stalk end remove a round of rind

half across. Through
this opening work
out tho pulp of the
fruit, taking great
caro not to make
holes in the skin at
any other point.
Now fill tho rind
of tho orange with
fine dry soil or sand,
and put tho whole
thing in some airy
place until the skin
has become hard.
Then pack some
moist soil Into the rind, and into this
push a pip from an orange. The pip
should ho about an inch down in the
soil. If tho soil is moist nt the start no
more water will be needed until tho pip
starls to develop into a little plant.
Keep tho little tree near a window,
where it gets a fair amount of light, and
It will not be long before a number of
the blossy loaves, which are very fra

will tend to push their way through the
rind, and the tip3 of these must be
pinched off. Tills will Help in stunting
