Farmers Remove
Stock from Flats
ALBURY, Tuesday. — Fed by
the large volume of water cas
cading over Hume Dam and by
Its tributaries— Mitta Mitta and
Kiewa rivers — the Murray near
Albury to-day broke its banks In
several fresh places. Large areas
of river flat country are under
water, and farmers living near
the river have had to shift their
stock.
The farm of Jack Gray, on the
Wodonga side of the river; was
cut off this morning, arid he was
unable to "get his milk to market
by the usual route. Instead, he
took the milk across the river,
to the farm of his cousin, from
whence it was delovered to . Al
bury. Another farmer, Jack
Lambert, had to use a boat to
take food to his pigs, which are
marooned by flood waters.
