Elective Ministry Urged.
MILDURA, Monday.— The poll for the
Mildura electorate was declared to-day
as follows: —
ALLNUTT (C.P.P.) .. .. .. .. .. 5640
PATTERSON (Lab.) .. .. .. .. .. 3756
Majority for Allnutt .. 1884
Allnutt received 1908 of Henshall's pre
ferences and Patterson 185.
Mr. Allnutt said he hoped the next
election would find the country parties
fighting as one unit. He advocated an
elective Ministry as the best solution, of
the political situation.
Mr. Patterson said an elective Ministry
seemed a good proposition for small par-
ties, but they required statesmen to make
a success of it.
Mr. Henshall expressed the hope that
the next Government would pay especial
attention to the needs of the Mallee
settlers and fruit growers.
