NEW MIGRATION PROPOSAL.
AUCKLAND, Monday.—1 The Secretary
of State for the Dominions, Mr. Amcry,
aflcrsponding Sunday quietly, had a busy
time to-day. 'This morning lie received
a memorial from more than forty or-
ganisations interested in migration, outlin
ing, a system. -supplementary to Govern
ment activities, and involving employment
of British capital in settling the land by
companies winch make a selection of
suitable migrants. They asked that the
British Government investigate the sys
tem, and, if endorsed, tlmt it afford to
the companies soino assistance under the
Empire Settlement Act-
