lower prices in cattle market.
BENDIOO. Wednesday.— The yarding .of
cattle at the weekly Bendigo market con
sisted of 482, which was 108 more than at
thc previous sale. Tho quality generally was
only fair. Aged cows, ranging from plain
to prime sorts, were In the majority, and
there were a number of heavy, good, fleshy
sorts and young stock. Steers and heifrra
were plentiful, and good to prime bullocks
of all weights were well supplied. The mar- :
kr.t lacked animation, and competition wns
dragging. While a few of tho best bullocks
and some of the young cattle sold around
last week's prices, the market generally, and
especially for heavy cattle, was 20/ to 30/ a
head easier, nnd in places up to 40/. Bulls
were cheaper, but stores and good dairy cows
were In request. Prime bullocks made £14
10/ to £17 7/6: good. £10 to £13: useful.
£7 10/ to £9 30/: prime cows, £10 10/ to
£13 15/: good. £9 to £10; useful. £5 10/
to £8 in/; venters. £3 10/ to £10; bulls,
to £13 10/; dairy cows, to £14 10/.
