EMERALD-HILL CHURCH PARADE.
On the present anniversary ot, tho Hospital
Sunday movement a departure, has been made
from the custom heretofore in force of- holding a
central church parade at the Melbourne
Town Hall, and owing to this circum
stance, therefore, it was left to tho
various volunteer corps to arrange for their own
parades. This wa3 done in several o fthe suburbs,
out tb most important gathering took place in
the new town hall, at Emerald-hill. A special
military servico was arranged for, conducted by
the Rev. Dr. Macdonald, assisted by the Rev. R.
B. Dickinson. A choir from the Wcslcyan Church,
under the direction of Mr. Thomas Ford, sang
the hymns, of which a very choice and excellent
selection was made. The building was Well
filled. Dr. Macdonald preached the sermon, and
took for his text Paul to the Hebrews ii., 3 :
"How shall we, escape if we neglect so great
salvation." The collection made at the close of
the service amounted to £21 2s.
