' barley as sugar.
'Qoriiparing 1890 with 1889, in 1890 brewers
utilised iri excoss of the quantities used iu 1889
28,681 bushels of malt, mado from 1,434,0501b
ofibsrley, and 300,7201b of sugar, showing an
increased consumption of 1,133,3301b of barley
in excess of tlio increased consumption of sugar,
the increased consumption of sugar being nearly
2 per cent", and that of barley over 3i per cent.
