GRAND CONCERT.
A concert in aid of the Independent
Church was held at the Town Hall,
Beechworth, on Friday evening, at which
a very attractive programme was pre-
sented, the artistes including Mr. H. J.
Floyd and several local amateur vocalists.
The attendance was fairly good, but not
so numerous as might have been expected,
consequent on various causes, the absenoe
of proper publicity being the principal.
Mr. Floyd, whose vocalisation has mani
festly improved during his absence in
Melbourne, was cordially received and
enthusiastically applauded, each of his
selections .being honored with a well-
merited encore. The accompaniments
were capably supplied by Misses Stewart,
I. Harper, Parsons and Sir. H. H. Jar vis.
