HAY MARKET.
Mr. Robert Chamberlain reports (23rd March):
—Tlie supplies during the week both of hav ami
straw have been short. Prime manger, especially
wheat en. and chafling hay aro readily selling at a
slight advance iu prico. Iuforior lots are, however,
difticult to got rid of. I sold old matigcr hay from
£3 10s. to £8, new up to £7 15s., chaffing up to £6
10s. ; straw, £2 10s- to £3 5s.
Messrs. Butlorand Moss report (23rd March):—
There has been a good demand for prime samples of
all classes, but inferior old hay is not wanted
much. Straw is coining forward more freely.
We sold Old hay, £4 to £8 ; new do., £6 to £7
15s. ; chafling do., £5 to £6 15s.; straw, £2 15s. to
£3.
