West Maitland R. R. Co.
The fifth quarterly competition and final for the
Buxton Cup (as far as the reserves are concerned)
took place on Friday and Saturday. The winner of
the Cup cannot be declared until after the next
competition of the B Company Volunteer Infantry,
who are also competing for it. Following are the
scores :

In a sweep fired after the match was finished,
Captain Clay put on " the possible" at 600 yards
-7 consecutive bull's eyes-a feat rarely performed
at that range.
