PÍAN CREEK AND WEETA WAA.
(Wo the Editor of the Maitland Mercury.) |
SIR,-In your issue of 7th inst. I notice an
article from. Kingstown signed, "X.Y.Z.," and
which is in reply to a »correspondence written by
me on 12th July. I waa not aware that mine
called for any such reply, and I should have treated
"X.Y.Z." with contempt, only I can plainly see
he has taken the wrong track, and blames an in-
nocent person, BO in justification of the person he
ealls "Toby" I will tell " X.Y.Z." that if he was as
clever as he thinks ho is he would have made a
straight hit, and not go blundering on to innocent
folks before he is sure. I will not go to the trouble
of going into details, as I know I have to fight
more than one head when roplying to " X.Y.Z.,"
although the whip is only to be laid on, and like an
illbred horse would soon fall behind in the ruck.
Cn reference to Kingstown, I only know of one
suchplacein New South Wales, and which is situated
on the banks of the Namoi River, but when I last
saw it there was only one " hut," but of course it
might have enlarged, and therefore I would "not he
justified in picking on "X.Y.Z.'* direct. I should not
have written but for the blunder of " X Y.Z," but
I this is my last comment, but I shall always be glad
to read "X.Y.Z.'s" scribbles, and I faithfully
promise not to retaliate. Apologising for trea
passing on your valuable space,
1
-I am, yours, etc.,
FAIR PLAY.
