[Eicnntff Saos J-The Agricultural Show was suc-
cessfully opened to-day. The weather was splendid,
and there was a large attendance of visitors. The
show will be continued to-morrow.
Mr John Eaton died yesterday.
[ Herald.]-Ai the opening of the show to-day 2000
persons were present. The Artillery Band was in
attendance Prizes for horses were awarded to
Joseph Onus, for Young Atlas (silver medal); fiist
prizes were given for William Garhng's Countess ,
for Henry Watt's mare, for Wood's black filly ; for
Thomas Holland's Polly Phipps ; for joung George I
Crowley'a mare, for Garhng's Smoker, Prince, and i
Bowler , and for Onus's four-year-old filly. Eight j
second prices lime been awarded for flowers and
fruit. Prizes will be awarded for dogs, poultry, and
cattle to-morrow. The ploughing matches are not
yet judged.
