'. BILL TO SIMPLIFY DEEDS,
Mr. HOLDEN obtained leave to introduoe a bill to
simplify deeds and other instruments. He avowed
hlmaelf opposed to the innovations proposed in the
prenent mode of conveyancing by the adoption of Sir
Hugh Oairns's Billa, and new schemes of registration,
and indefeasible title, and explained thal his bill was
founded on the system at present in operation i ' New
Zealand.
The bill was read a first time.

The Oflloial Salaries Bill WUB postponed by Mr. FAOAR.
The Bank Statements and Abstracts Regulation Bill was
taken into oommiltee, but reported without progress.
