CHURCH OF ENGLAND BALL
SUCCESSFUL FUNCTION ATI
UNOARIE
There was au attendance of about
20U persons at the Church of Luglahd
| annual ball at I'ngarie on the 2-Hh
ultimo, and all present spent a most
enjoyable evening.
It was unfortunate that several
I balls were held in neighboring local
ities the same week, which undoubt
edly militated against a larger at
. enhance.
The stage was very tastefully de
jorated with baskets of flowers and
.lie dance floor was in excellent order.
Splendid music was provided by the
31ack and White Orchestra, wbosc
generous response to encores was
much appreciated. Enjoyable extras
were played by Mrs. A. W. Stidwill,
Mrs. H. Jackson, and Miss Grace
Troy.
The duties of M.C. were In the
apable hands of Mr. Chafe. Bam.
The hall was officially opened by
the Rev. H. C. Barralt (Itecjor of
Wyalong Parish). He extended a cor
dial welcome to ail present, and j
(banked lliem for their attendance
and patronage. He congratulated the J
members of the Ladles' Guild upon
the excellence of lliir arrarngemeuls
in the haii and in the' supper room,
and expressed. the hope that their
painstaking, efforts would he crowned
vilh success, .
Two sittings of supper were neces
sary. The members of the Ladies'
Guild provided a very dainty and
mticiug repast, which was favorably
ommenlod upon by all present. The
service throughout left 110 cause for
.omplaiiit. The tables were tastefully
lecorated with bowls of mixed flovr

Beef tea, served^at 2 a.m. was a
lealure of the fundLion whilh was
much appreciated and enjoyed.
The Ladies' Guild worked hard in
'he organisation and carrying out of
-he hall, and Giey are to he cou
gratuleled upon the result of
'heir efforts. A special word of praise
due to the Hon. Secretary, Mrs.
t- Mackrell, senr.' who spared nei
ther time nor energy in her efforts
to make the function a success. Mrs.
Mackrell is one or the oldest and
most esteemed ladies iu Ungaric, who
has always heen to the fore in work
ing for all worthy objects. Her pub
lic spirit is worthy of the highest
commendation.
