METROPOLITAN riflemen were not favored
by weather conditions for their matches
on Saturday. A dull light and changing

conducted a monthly members' match
over 700 yards, which was won by Percy
Pearce (Railways) with the only possible
score of the day. His score won for him
both the scratch and handicap sections of
the event.

FOHEMOST SHOT
Pearce has a Longfleld aggregate to his
credit, and a few yean ago was regarded
as one of the foremost shots In this State.
Wally Thomson, s South Australian King's
winner, had the best two scores of 49, and
took second prize in the scratch section,
while F. n. Insklp. the veteran Caulfleld
marksman, took second prize In the handicap
section.
Thomson's score on Saturday cave him
i almost unbeatable position in the championship
of No. 22 Union, which Is fired
progressively throughout the year.
