St. Joseph's, West Brunswick
IRISH NATIONAL CONCERT.
A most enjoyable Irish concert was
held on Monday evening, March 16th,
in
the
parish
hall,
West
Brunswick,
before
a
crowded
audience. The Rev. P. Rafferty, P.P.,
presided.
Songs
were
rendered
by Misses Cecilia Curtin
and Alice
Lynch, whose singing of one little
Irish song, "For God and Ireland,"
was quite a treat.
Mr. John Sullivan's
fine tenor voice was heard in
"The
Irish
Emigrant," ''Cruiskeen
Lawn," and "For the Green"; he was
also associated with Miss Cecilia Curtin
in a duet,
"Killarney."
Violin
solos, rendered by Mr. Frank
Duffy
were heartily applauded.
Mr. Edward
Leahy,
supplied the humorous
side, being doubly encored on each
occasion.
Mr. Noel Tobin
recited
some of "John O'Brien's",
poems,
which were greatly enjoyed.
Miss
Kathleen Moloney presided at
the
piano in her own capable style.
Killeen's
orchestra rendered selections
during the evening. The secretarial
duties were carried out by Mr.
W.
Hannan, ably
assisted by Mr. B.
Shanahan.
