Festivei aof Sac^ /Song.
A grand, festival-of- sacred song and
entertainment will be held in the
Princess Theatre , on , Good Friday
night. Mr. Walter-Kirby and leading
artists will appear in an interesting
programme. It is three years
since Mr. Kirby appeared at a festival
of this kind in Melbourne. A
musical treat i= in-store for those attending.

Messrs. A. Kenny (superintendent
of the Ballarat Orphanage), W.
White, J.P., A. W. Hager, and Frank
Kierce enjoy unique records in connection
with Ballarat St. Patricks
Day Festival. For 48 years Mr.
Kenny has marched with the Orphanage
Band boys .in the procession.
Mr. White has for 40 years officiated
as marshal, and Mr. A. W. Hager ha3
served in a similar capacity. The
.general secretary, Mr. Frank T.
Kierce, has ocejpied that. position for
30 years. These four stalwarts ia
the movement were again at their respective
posts on last Friday.
On the evenin? of April 3rd the
pupils of the Brothers De La Salle,
Stanhope-street, Malvern, will unite
with the pupils of St. Joseph's School,
under the control of the Brigidine
nuns. High-street, Malvern, in an entertainment
at St. Joseph's Hall,
Stanhope-street, in'aid of the parish
funds. His -Grace the Archbishop,
the Most Rev. Dr. Mannix, will pre-
. side. Tickets are two shillings,•
with an extra sixpence for booking.

Miss Nora Hehir, president of th«
Windsor Convent Past Pupils' Association,
who -recently underwent aa
operation, at Benedict's Hospital,
Coonil-crescent, Malvern, is making
good recovery., and has been the recipient
of many proofs of her popularity
as social organiser and charitable
worker..
