bride, who' was given'away by her fancle. (Mr..
M. Jacobs), looked 'charming in a simple frock
of ivokg marocain, trimmed with; godots of
georgette,- -silver and pearls. The veil (her
mother's). was arranged- cap fashion, with coro
net of orange -blossom. A cream silk hand
Worked .shawl, ;i04. yearn old (hv .-great-grand
mother's) • was' worn during the .evening. . A
eliowcr • bouquet completed the toilette. Her
two sisters acted - as bridesmaids-—Trixle (in
Shell pink): and Nellie {In moonlight'blue bro
cade), -both trimmed with tiny horseshoes of
hand-made flowers of pink, blue, and silver.
Tulle and silver bandeaux: were worn, and posies
carried to match their frocks. Mr. L. Elliott
was best man, and ' Mr. T. Rule groomsman.
Two silver horseshoes were placed on the
bride's arm when leaving the church. A recep
tion for immediate relatives was held in the
hall, which was artistically decorated by Mr.
h. Elliott. Mrs. B- G. Dunstan (sister of bride)
officiated at the organ, Mrs. B. Elliott ar- j
ranged the" bouquets. The bridal couple left
for their honeymoon amid flowers of confetti [
and good wishes."

There was a large attendance at St. Augus
tine's Halli Victor Harbour,-'on -Tuesday, July
27. when a eucbre party and dance were held
la aid of funds towards the building expenses.
The arrangements for tlie evening were, under the
supervision of Miss Goodwin and Messrs. C. 1'ear
sonft and W. Jeffery. while a ladles' committee
had charge of the supper. Euchre and bridge
here played, after which supper 1 Was-' served,
and then dancing took place. Mr. C.Pearsons
was M.C., and Miss Hyde performed excellent

A very successful- dance, organized by the
social committee of the Saddletvorth Football
.Club,', was held in the institute hall on Wed
nesday evening, July 28. The hall was deco
rated with gold-and-blue streamers (the dub's
ooloura), ana gum tips. The music was per
formed by the Clare Jazz Orchestra. A delicious
supper was served In the supper room, which

arranged a plain- and fancy dress dance in the
CadeU -Hall on-Thursday -evening, July. 29. Mr.
Shields, as lion, secretary, and Mesdames Gray,
Gifciour, Vasey, Hodge. Curtts, Watts, and Ash
arranged every detail splendidly, and .the dance
•was a-great success in every way. The tables
laden with delicious -home-made dainties were
a blaze of Iceland poppica in brass vases, and
Mesdames Watts, Gilmour, Gray,- and Nimmo,
with the help of the gentlemen, saw that the
guests were well served. Mesdames Gray and
Hbies, Miss Shields (violin) performed the dance

PARILLA, July 28.—The local hall presented
an animated appearance on Wednesday evening,
when a euchre party and dance were conducted
In aid of the hall funds. The attendance was
excellent. The winners of the euchre tourna-
ment were Mrs. ColwilI and Mr. O. Dabinett.
Mr. F. Hannam officiated at the piano, and
Mr. B. Perry was the M.C. A lavish supper
was served.—The local branch of the Agricultural
Bureau held its annual social and dance on Wed-
nesday evening. The President of the bureau
presented Mr. C. Dabinett (winner of the Parilla
Crop Competition) with the bureau cup for
having gained the highest number of points.
Gold medals were presented to Mr. Schumacher
(second) and Mr. Neindorf (third). The pre-
sentations were made by Messrs. Sutherland and
Dittmer. During the evening songs were con-
tributed by Mrs. V. McCormack and Mr. Mar-
shall, and a recitation by Miss Kotz. The music
for the dance, which followed, was supplied by
Mesdames. McCormack and D. Tait and Mr. An-
drews. Mr. B. Perry was M.C., and Mr. C. S.
Foale (secretary of the branch) had made the
arrangements. A splendid supper were served.
