SOCIETY OF ARTS.
The meeting of this Society, for the distribution
of prizes amongst the subscribers by lottery, took
place on Wednesday evening, the 29th instant,
pursuant to postponement.
Mr. C. W. May was called to the chair.
Miss Addison and Miss Ward consented to draw-
the tickets, and were installed at the urns by Mr.
Abrahams and Mr. J. Macgeorge.
The scrutineers having examined the tickets,
handed in the following certificate;—
" We the undersigned, subscribers to the South
Australian Society of Arts, have compared the
counters with the list of subscribers, and find
that the number, two hundred and twenty-one, is
correct; also, we bare seen that there are forty
eight prizes and one hundred and seventy-three
blanks to correspond.

The drawing then commenced, when the follow-
ing subscribers won prizes, thelnumbers of which
are given in brackets as they appeared upon the

Votes of thanks to the ladies who assisted at
the lottery and to the Chairman were carried by
acclamation.
The Chairman announced that the Exhibition
would be open free to the public on New Year's
Day; and that on the other days of this week the
admission-fee would be reduced to 6d. each—the
Exhibition to close finally on Saturday evening.
