ZEPPELIN RAIDS. 1
Two Visits to East Coast.
Forty Lives Lost.
. An Admiralty report states that another
Zeppelin raid took place on the north-east
coast of England on Tuesday night. Several
fires were started by tho bombs dropped
from t'he airship, but they were extin
guished.
It is officially, announced that 16 persons
were killed, including a: policeman, and 40
ni-'ic llljureu.
In connection with tho raid which took
place on the night of Otli inst., also on the
north-east coast, 5 men (civilians), 13 women
and 6 children were killed. A drapery
store, a timber yard and a terrace of
small houses wore burned.
AIR RAID AS REPRISAL

' Senseless Procedure.'
In a further report on the French air
raid on Karlsruhe, tthc capital of Baden,
which was made as a reprisal for tho Ger
man bombardment of French and British
towns, a Berlin, communique states: —
.'Nineteen persons were killed and fourteen
seriously injured. Tho population of Karls
ruhe is embittered on account of this sense
less procedure.'
Important Results Achieved.
Heavy Loss of Life.
A Copenhagen telegram says it is report
ed that the raid at Kai'isruho destroyed
tho military barracks and the munitions
factory. '
'A neutral from Karlsruhe stites that 50
bombs were dropiped, almost destroying the
palace, .-which is the -head quarters of tho
local commander. He adds that three offi
cers and two soldiers wore killed here, and
over 200 persons were lulled elsewhere.
Zeppelin Shed Bombarded.
Three English airmen dropped three
bombs on a Zeppe-lin shed at Gontrode,
south of Ghent. The damage done is uou
yet -known.
