MacDonald—West
A WEDDING of interest to district
residents took place at the Kent
Town Methodist Church on Saturday,
15th February, ,at 5 P.m., when Jean,
elder daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C.
MacDonald, of Echunga, was married
to William, only son of" Mrs. M. and
the late Mr. J. West, of Maylands.
The bride, who entered the church
on her father's arm, looked very
charming in a frock of white self
ribbed crepe, the long flared skirt
merging into a train; the bodice was
softly shirred into a high waist and
the long sleeves formed points over
the hands. The long veil embroidered
with true lovers' knots, was fastened
to the head with a crocheted halo,
trimmed with orange blossom. She
carried an artificial bouquet of white
roses, stock and fern with trails of
hyacinths, made by Mrs. H. Liebelt.
A'ttached to the bouquet was the tra
ditional ''something blue" in the form
of a tiny J worked on a lace hand
kerchief.
The matron-of-honor, Mrs. Charles
MacDonald, Jnr., was frocked in la
vender net, made bouffant style,
with mittens and tiny veil to tone.
She carried a Victorian posy of arti
ficial flowers in violet shades.
The bridesmaid, Miss Lorna Mac
Donald, sister ot the bride, wore lemon
net made on princess lines with mit
tens and veils to match, and carried
a Victorian posy of lemon-shaded ar
tificial roses. Mr. Charles MacDonald
Jnr., and Mr. John Walkey were best
man and groomsman respectively.
The bride's mother chose navy blue
with white accessories and an aut
umn-toned shoulder spray while the
bridegroom's mother wore a two
toned frock of powder blue and
navy, with navy accessories and
shoulder spray of blue-tipped gladioli.
As the bride left the church two
lucky horseshoes were hung on her
arm by Pamela Clarke and Keith Mac
Donald, niece and nephew of the bride
and groom. At the house of Mr. and
Mrs. T. Puckett, Burwood Ave., Nails
worth, a small reception was beld,(
where a lovely, two-tiered wedding
cake, made by the bride's mother, was
cut by the bride. For travelling, the
bride chose a champagne silk jacket
suit with all white accessories. The
happy couple's future home will be at
Maylands.
