ii tries, left Mr. and Mrs. Hayes
and Carmelita in Norway, but
met them again accidentally
in Ireland. He came to Aus
tralia early In the. year to do
1 some research into the early
' history oC the aborigines and
returned to America some
mouths ago. Carmelita receiv
ed her ring, a square-cut
solitaire diamond, on Thanks
giving Day. She also received
flowers and a pearl necklace
from ' her fiance. Carmelita
and her mother will leave in
April to visit Eraraett's people
in Chicago.

the ruby wedding anniver
sary of Mrs. Kelly's parents,
Mr. and Mrs. Allan Peacock,

present were their six sons
1 in-law and six daughters, Mr.
and Mrs. Miles, Mr. aud
Mrs. Mattson, Mr. and Mrs.
Kelly, Mr. and Mrs. Dickson,
Mr. and Mrs. Holmes and
Mr. and Mrs. Robson. Eleven
grandchildren were also pre
sent. Mr. : and Mrs. Peacock's
only son, Eric, was lost in
1945 while serving with the
R.A.A.F. The jubilarians
were married at St. Jarlath's

The girls, who are now living
in Montreal, have spent three

participated in the Holy Year
celebrations and spent Christ
mas in Sweden.
