THE iRETA MINERS.
A sPBoIAr miners' meeting was hold at
Page's Hall, Greta, on Tuesday night, for the
purpose of discussing the reason why work
could not be resumed after drawing the
cavils; also, to show cause why the manager
should stop the afternoon shift from working
after the miners had entered the mine on
Monday, as the tools had already been re
moved by their mates. Mr. Robert Dunn
was in the chair, and a communication from
the manager was read, statinc that work
would not be resumed, except under the con
ditions or terms agreed to previous to the
commencement of the strike.
It was resolved that Mr. J. Connelly and
Mr. J. Spinks proceed to the lower district,
and furnish the various lodges with full par
tieulars concerning the crisis.
The motion was put to the meeting, and
carried.
