Good supplies met with a good market
at the Mfaitland produce sales yesterday,
the features being hay. vegetables, and
fruit, the latter showing a rise on recent
quotations. Poultry improved in price,
and eggs were dearer. Messrs. Swan, MIur

MIrs. Waller, wife of Alderman J. H.
F. Waller, sustained a fracture of the
leg above the knee on Tuesday after
noon. She had been visiting a friend,
and was-w'allking to the cab when she
slipped and fell. Mrs. Waller has just
recovered from an illness, and the accid*
ent, therefore, becomes unusually seri
Mr. R: L. Eckford, a prominent mem
ber of the Hunter District Rugby Union,
was presented with a cruet and silver
mounted jam dish by his colleagues of
the union executive, on itonday evening,
on the occasion of his marriage. The
presentation was made by Mr. P. Clancy,
