Lo,::nox, Thursday Night--The market for
colonial securities is quiet. The following are the
prices ruling and a comparison with last week's
quotations :-Imperial Consols, 9~ per cents., £98 15s,
a rise of 17s 6d. New South Wales, 3.s per cents.,
£93, unchanged: New South Wales 4 per cents.,
£105. a rise of 10s. Victorian 3l per cents., £86 10,
a fall of 10s; Victorian 4 per cents., £100 15s, a fall
of 5s. South Australian 4 per cents., £101, a rise of
i0s. Queensland 4 per cents., £99 10s, a rise of 5s.
New Zealand 4 per cents., £101 10s, unchanged.
Tasmanian 31 per cents., £90, unchanged.
The weekly returns of the Bank of England, pub
lished to-day, show the proportion of reserve to lia
bilities to be 50 per cent., being the sameas last week.
The total reserve in notes and bullion is £20,000,000,
being an increase of £90,000. 'The open market rate
of discount is 1a per cent., being a per cent. below the
Bank of Englnndrate.
The cargo of South Australian wheat ex the barque
Ellora, has been sold at 29s per quarter.
In the Bradford wool market 60's are at from 20.
to 20d, and fine supers at 21}d.
The Australasian Mortgge and Agency Company,
Limited, has received the following cable, dated
London, Thursday:-" Wool market is weaker.
Prices have declined since date of our last. Telegram
to the extent of 5 per cent."
