the principal objects
of his visit is to see
his son, Mr. Lewis
Luston, row for
Cambridge in the
big boat race against
Oxford.
He said on his ar
rival in Adelaide to
day that he hoped to
bring his son back to
Australia on his re
turn in June. Mr.
Luxton has secured a
degree in economics.
Discussing council
affairs in Melbourne
Sir Harold said tnat
there were never
any complaints, by
ratepayers.
"Our ratepayers are assessed in the only
logical way--on their. revenue. If their
revenue drone so does the assessment.
That happens automatically, without the
ratepayer having to apply for it," he said.
"The council's affairs are in good shape,
thanks to economic administrtion."
Sir Harold is taking plans for Mel
oourne's centenary celebrations. to London
with him. WVhat they are he will not re
veal.
"I must discuss them first with our resi
dent Minister. Mr. S. M. Bruce," he said:
He will also discuss business interests
with British men, and if time permits,
enquire into musicipal affairs overseas.
His only official municipal call will be on
the Lord Mayor of London.
Sir Harold spent part of. today, at tbel
home of Sir Wallace Bruce, former Lord
Miayor of Adelaide, at Medindie. He also
met several Adelaide business men. He
will rejoin the Ormonde tomorrow at
Outer Harbor.
