Oceania team was
'under-prepared'
The executive director of the Australian In
stitute of Sport, John ChefTers, said yesterday that
the World Cup Athletics Oceania team had been,
with one or two exceptions, under-prepared and
should have been chosen six months earlier.
The general manager of World Cup, John
Marshall, said that the organisers should break even
on staging the three-day event in Canberra, and that
the international athletics body should make about
$700,000. The event finished on Sunday.
