Lyre birds
killed
MELBOURNE, Friday.
The Department of
Fisheries and Wildlife has
received a complaint that
lyre birds were being shot
and plucked at night in
Sherbrooke Forest, the
director, Mr A. D. Butcher,
said tonight.
The complaint has also
been made to the police, the
national parks authority
and the forests commission
which controls the 2,000
acre Sherbrook Forest in
the Dandenong Ranges, 25
miles from Melbourne.
