PRIME BEEF SCARCE
Plain Cattle Cheaper
Few quality cattle were available at
the Abattoirs market today. Selected
station bullocks brought 40/ to 42/ 100 lb.
wholesale. Sales were eteady at last
week's rates. Useful station beefers
were a shade cheaper .at 30/ 100 lb., while
plain steers and cows were in little ide
mand at 25/ to 26/. Calves were scarce
and quality met with brisk competitiron.
Although 1,702 cattle were catalogued
the supply of beef cattle was much in
ferior to that of a week ago. The
majority of the catle showed signs of
wastage. Neil McGilp & Sons, of Woola
watana station, suplplied the pick of the
market with 60 handweight bullocks. Sir
Sidney KIidman was interested in cattle
from M!andowdna station, the Barrier
district, and northern stations.
Messr. G. & E. A. Brooks Limited
contributed 134 useful to good cattle
ifrom Kanowana station. .
