SStuck in the Claypans
A. Campbell, Naracoorte:-On Sunday
a rather tedious walk was forced upon Mr.
Scablon, one of my friends, who is a re
presentative of Crapp & Hawker, Limited,
Adelaide.
While motoring from Adelaide to 3Bor
dlertown by way of Wood's WVells with
Mr. Way, a fellow-commercial traveller,
his car was stuck in the claypans. It was
hauled out with much difficulty.
The travellers were 35 miles from Border
town at the time. Mr. Scanlon set out
.or help. He started at 6.40 o'clock in
tile evening. IHe called on a farmer who
was good enough to leave his bed and go
;back 22 miles, the distance walked by
Mir. Scanlon.
They arrived at Bordertown tired and
sore, but thanks to Mr. J. Heffernin of
Tatiara Hotel are none the worse for their
ordeal.
