Win for
England
LONDON, Wednes
day (AAP-Reuter). —
England, one of six
seeded nations in the
World Cup finals- in
Spain this northern
summer, did little to
enhance its claims to be
ranked among soccer's
elite when it laboured to
a 4-0 win over Northern
Ireland in the British
championship last night.
Though Bryan Robson
put England in front after
47 seconds, it made hard
work of beating a side with
only three regular English
first division players.
England began the sec
ond half with a flourish and
Keegan, unmarked six
metres out, headed in the
second goal. Ray Wilkins
scored the third in the 84th
minute and Hoddle netted
the fourth a minute later.
