Girls' Guild.

in the Methodist Lake Hall on Mon
day evening last, under the auspices of
the Girls Guild. Instrumental-music
was supplied by Mrs. F. Sharley, Miss
s™„ 'ler' and Mr. Henry Stubbs.
hongs were contributed by Mrs. L. J.
Bills, Misses A. Hill, D. Lucas, D.
Keid, and F. Edwards. Elocutionary
items were given by Rev. R. H. Lee,
of Koonnga. A very enjoyable even
ing was spent, every number being
well received by the audience. Re*

thanks to all who had assisted.

The death has occurred at Broken
Hill of Mr. David McKenna, at the
age of 64. Mr McKenna was a team-
ster at Silverton, and then went to
Broken Hill, being one of the first
teamsters to work in that city. In
the early days he also held a selection
which was then named White Hut,
near Lake's Grave. After working as
a teamster for a few years he gave
this occupation up, and then worked
along the line of lode. He lived quiet-
ly, but was an enthusiastic draught
player, and was a prominent member
of the West Football Club. For a
long time he had been in indifferent
health. He leaves a widow and five
children, Mr. J. K. McKenna (Peter
borough). Mr Henry McKenna (West
Coast), Mrs. P. Moroney (Hammond),
and Misses Doris and Mavis McKenna
(Broken Hill). There are also three
step-children, Mrs. J. Crase (Broken
Hill), Mrs. C. Luckraft (Orroroo),
and Mrs. S. Harkness (Broken Hill).

Miss Gertrude Beed (Peterbor
ough). the Diocesan secretary of
Willochra, visited it on Tuesday
April 27th., and spoke on the'
aims of the society and the way
of working it in the diocese,^to a
very interested and well attended
meeting. At the conclusion she
presented to the retiring branch
secretary their farewell gift-^6
G.F.8. spoons. On Anzac Day,
before the Corporate Communion
of the Branch, Miss Reed unveil
ed a picture, given by Mrs. Bar
ney of the G.F.S. Banner, which
be tune in Westminister
Abbey in memory of those who
fell m the Great War. An
enthusiastic meeting was also
held at Port Pirie on April 26th.

FAREWELL AT MANNAHILL
On Friday evening last a farewell so
cial was tendered to Mr. and Mrs. H.
t. Megaw. Mr. Megaw has been in
chrage of the railway station here-'for
he past 12 months, and has now been
transferred to Roseworthy. On hand

the guests and wished them every suc
cess and happiness in the future. Mr.
Newlyn and Mr. Dilena endorsed the

sical .terns were rendered by the New
lyn family, Mr. Buxton, and the school
children. Supper was provided by the
ladies and dancing brought a very en
joyable evening to a close. Mrs. New
