Tho State executive of the Woman's
Christian Temperance Union ipet on Wed-'
nesday morning. Correspondence was re
ceived from Misses Agnes E. Slack and
Anna A. Gordon, wdtld's secretaries.
Mrs. Carvosso (Australasian secretary)
wrote that elm w«b sending copies of
the "Handy Booklet," which she had
prepared for use by the anions. The
appointment as superintendent of work
among soldiers was accepted by Mrs. T.
H. Thinner. Mrs. J. ,T. Stuckcy con
sented to represent the union on the
travellers' aid committee. The election
of delegates to the Australasian Con
vention in Perth was -considered, arid
the voting will he conducted at the June
meeting. District convactions were re
ported. and dates were announced of
coming conventions: also of a gift after
noon. and. later, a fair. Bnoations were
promised towards posters on hoardings,
"Thanksgiving Week" meetings were an
nounced, and all members were urged to
make the week (June 1 to 8) a success.
The union is co-operating with other
societies of women to observe the week
commencing to-day hv meeting for praise
and prayer. The State president is on
the committee. Mi?? Bell is in charge
at "WtHard."
