Closing the Gap
You made your nappies a work of art,
So who washed them right from start
And who spoke with you heart to heart
Your Oldies.
Who held your hand while crossing the street,
Who brought you all your chocolate sweets
And who clothed you and covered your feet
Your Oldies.
Who held you up and stuck by you
When ever you got in a stew
Who cheered you up when you felt blue
Your Oldies.
Who tausht vou what was wrong from right.
Who sat up with you night after night
And pulled you through the sickness fight
Your Oldies.
Who's money did we have to lend
Who gave it to you like a friend
And who sacrificed so you could spend
Your Oldies.
Who led you to success and fame,
The ones you checked and called all names
And who loved you just the same.
Your Oldies.
Who taught you how to tie your shoe,
Who kept a watchful eye on you,
So who should you be grateful to?
Your Oldies.
