Two sentenced
for life on
brothel owner's
death
SYDNEY, Thurs-
day. — Two men were
sentenced to life im-
prisonment in the Cen-
tral Criminal Court
tonight for the murder
of the 42-year-old
brothel owner Joe
Borg.
Another man chargcd
with being an accessory be-
fore the fact was found
guilty and remanded for
sentence till 10am on Mon-
day morning.
Borg died when a gelig-
nite bomb exploded under
his car in Bondi late last
year.
The two convicted of
murder, Paul Mifsud, 29,
waiter, of Pritchard Street,
Annandale, and Paul
Attard, 24, painter and
docker, of Bennett Street,
Newtown, said they would
appeal against the jury's de-
cision.
Keith Keillor, 50, a
waiter, of Darlinghurst
Road, Kings Cross, who
was remanded until Mon-
day, said, "In view of my
antecedents in sickness of
body and mind, I didn't
know what I was doing. 1
was drunk and didn't think
they were fair dinkum about
doing what they did" (refer-
ring to the convicted men).
Mr Justice R, L. Taylor
remanded Keillor for sen-
tence until he ascertained
whether a sentence of life
imprisonment was manda-
tory to being an accessory
before the fact.
The three men pleaded
not guilty.
An hour after retiring the
foreman of the jury sub-
mitted a written question to
Mr Justice Taylor, asking
him for a legal definition of
the charge against Keillor.
The charge read that
Keillor had incited, moved,
procured, aided, counselled,
hired and commanded
Attard and Mifsud to com-
mit the felony.
Mr Justice Taylor told
the jury that it was part of
the Crown's case that Keil-
lor had advised the other
two men on how to make a
bomb and then later had
helped construct it.
