Five ANU Blues

The AINU Sports Union's five sporting Blues for 1966
— two each for skiing anrl Australian Rules football, and
one for rugby — will be made at the Bines Recovery ball on
November 22.
Winners of the Blues
for 1966 arc — Australian
Rules: Rod Gilholme and
Kit Stevens; skiing: Andrew
Hay and Angela Bors; and
rugby: Kevin McCue.
Stevens, who played Alls
tralian Rules with (he Uni-i
vcrsity of South Australia
in 1965, won ANU's best
and fairest award in his first
season this year and starred
in the inter-Varsity carnival
in Melbourne.
Hay, who resigned from
the Australian Rules side
during (he season to con
centrate on skiing, had a
most successful year and
finished in the top 15 in
giant slalom events in Aus
tralia.
Kevin McCuc, who
earned his Blue for rugby
union, was chosen in the
ACT team as five-eighth to
play Victoria in Melbourne.
Regular five-eighth for
ANU, he missed matches
only through injury or ACT
representation, and was one
of the outstanding players
in the inter-Varsity carnival
in Brisbane.
Last game for
ANU'
Rod Gilholme, who
played his fiOth-and-last
ganie for ANU in the
CANFL first semi-final,
was awarded a Blue for his
outstanding service to the
club during the past four
years.
Angela Bors, secretary of
Ihe Ski Club, has already
had a most successful carcer
although she is only just out
of junior ranks.
From 1961 t0 1964 she
consistently finished third or
fourth in New South Wales
and Victorian junior events,
and last year won the Vic
torian intermediate cham
pionship.
In this year's inter-Varsity
events she finished second
in the slalom, third in the
downhill, fourth in the. giant
slalom, and third overall.
