In Shorthand,
Typing Classes
Forty-six students of the Public Ser-
vice Board Secretarial and Typist-in-
training Classes have received their
graduation diplomas.
The Public Service Inspec-
tor, Mr. E. C. Peverill, pre-
sented the diplomas at a cere-
mony at the Lecture Theatre,
Institute of Anatomy.
Mr. Peverill and the Prin-
cipal of the Canberra Techni-
cal College, Mr. J. Gillis,
gave addresses.
Students entertained parents
and friends with a pro-
gramme which included a
number of musical items.
Students reached high stan-
dards in their examinations.
More than eighty five per
cent of the students in the
shorthand classes attained
speeds of 100 words a minute
or more.
Twelve of forty-six students
reached a speed of 130 words
a minute. A high standard
also was attained in the typ-
ing tests.
