CAROLS AT THE GAOL.
The choir of St. Nicholas' Church of
England, North Goulburn; visited the gaol
on Sunday and sang carols for the benefit
of the prisoners. The soloists were Misses
Dance and R. Graham. Mr. H. Walker, who
was in good voice, sang "Nazareth." Arch-
deacon Spencer read a short service. The
visit seemed to be much appreciated by the
prisoners.
At the Goulburn Police Court this (Tues-
day) morning, one defendant, against whom
a prohibition order was in force, was fined
£1, in default seven days' hard labour in
Goulburn Gaol, for being drunk.
Miss Nellie Pain, at present teaching in the
Public School at Norfolk Island, is spending
portion of her holidays in Goulburn, where she
was formerly teaching.
