The Crookwell Hospital Ladies' Auxiliary held their

of Arts, with Mrs. C. Walker occupying the chair.

and those present were: Mes
dames, G. Rowe, H. Love, D.

hew, Woolard, and Misses J..
Cady and M. Smith.

the year's work,,and Mrs. Moyes,
submitted the balance sheet.
. In moving the adoption,
Smembers expressed their satis
faction with the work done for
the year, also the financial
'position of the Auxiliary, and
thanked the President and
Treasurer for their reports.
The election of officers for
-the ensuing year resulted as
follow:--Miute secretary, Mrs.
* .L. C. Goodhew; social secretary.
Mrs. R. Gay; vice-presidents,
SMrs. G. Rowe, H. Pedley, D.
Saunders, D. Galloway.
A vote of thanks to the audit
or and to the press for publicity
closed 'the annual meeting.
Immediately following the an
riual meeting a colnmittee
meeting was held.
A. letter of thanks was read
from the Matron of Harley
Maternity Unit expressing ap
preciation of gifts received from
Auxiliary.
The annual ball was discuss
ed, and it was decided to write
to the Hospital Board suggest
ing that the day of ball be al
tered from a Wednesday to a
Friday night. The suggestion
also was put forward that this
year, to make the function
more attractive, a masked ball
b??held.
The ball held last year did
not receive the support one
would have expected for a hos
,pital ball, and it is hoped
something new will make the
desired appeal.
On the motion of Mrs. Moyes,
it was decided to raise money
by having a *button day later
in the year.
It was also decided that
future meetings be held in the
committee room of the School
of Arts .on the second Tuesday
each .month, and that at these
nmeetings sewing will be dis
tributed to members. A small
donation from each member
will cover the cost of the room.
The Acting-President, in her
report, said that although there.
was not so much- money raised
during the year, they were,
never-the-less, just as active.
Mrs. Broadbent held' a .jumble
sale at the beginning of the
year. Then came the sale of
Mrs. Cullen's daffodills in Sep
tember. Later Mrs. Devitt ar
ranged a card party at her
home, which, besides bringing
in a nice sum of money, was
most enjoyable. For hospital
day, instead of the usual .fete,
a button day was held, and
later, at the show, members
conducted a stall, raising over
£22. This amount, together
with the money from the sale
of the buttons, wsas handed
over to the Hospital Board.
Members also .took charge of
afternoon tea and soft drinks
at the hospital races, the money
being handed direct to the race
committee.
Mending for the hospital had
also been done each month.
To the Harley Maternity Unit
bunny rugs and flannel were
sent to be made up into 'little
jackets for the use of babies
while in' hospital.
In April, Mrs. Rowe tendered
her resignation as secretary,
which was received with re
gret. In May Mrs. Readett ten
dered her resignation as presi
dent, as she was leaving Crook
well to live in Goulburn. Thus
they had, with difficulty, car
ried on till now without either
a secretary or president.
The public was thanked for
generous support.
