TuiE third mooting of thle noaou in connection with
the Goulburn Coursing Club opened on Thursday on

club lis onto of tile ploasnoteat and most compleat
grounds in tho colony, everything that is nocosnary
for convenience and enjoyment being provided. Tire

tio lnast injury. The courno showed signs of having
bonefitud by tho rccent showers, the verduro helping
to improve tho general appearanco of thi ground.
The weather wans all that could bo desired, a cool
breezo tempering tile heat of the sun. The attend
ince was smaller than was expected, only from throe
to four hundred persons being present.
The oflicers performed their dutioa satisfactorily,
working with a will to occurn til succossful carrying
out of tie mnooting. Mr. Walter Cooper officiated as
judgo, and his decisions wore well received; tih only
caso in which there was any dissatisfaction oxpressed
boing wlhen Dido was nanmed. Many of thi public
thought that Pluto had won, but tih judge is the
person who is in a position to give a correct opinion
on the course, and hli opinions should be accepted
with good grace. Mr. Pratt actcd as slipper with his
aoustomcd ability. Thi seccretary, Mr. Josuph J.
Ioborts, was nisiduous in Ilia endeavoura to make
thie inmoting a suCOOss, and thli stwards porformed
their work eoll.
The pnblicana' and luncheon bootlh wore held by
Mr. GeorgO Millor of thi Iloyal Hotel, and a good
businoss appeared to be done. Mr. John Byrno had
the calo stall, and did a umedianm shlaro of buninuss.
The first couirs of tie District Punso started it
twelvo o'clock. The running in tlie first round was
generally uninteresting. The exceptions wora Blue
Pill and Blessing. The former ran with gront danb,
working the hare well, and never allowing her op.
pollent a clhance. Taim O' Shanter did not appear
at his best in his course with Blessing. The formnor
led to tlie haro, but was displaced by Blonsing, who
worked cleverly and won easily. In the first ties of
the District Purse theor wis some excellent work
done. Little Lady and Xixon wcrn tie first to
begin, ail in a fine triil Xixon won ; nd Minnio and
Prowling Sal rani a good ounrsc, the formor winning.
In a fiio trial Blue Pill disposed of Country Lass.
Tle mnost exciting course of the day wan that
betwoien Blossing and Wild Wave, thi former gotting
the award after a lino run. In the firlt round of thi
Local Stakes, (Grnet, Lullaby, and. -Wellington
showed the bost form. Sonim good courdse occurred
in tim first ties, 0olantho, Snowden, and Wellington
showing tli bust forln. The Soiling Plato did not
produon good coursen, tie bust being that betwoon
Will-o'-tho.Wisp and Chan o.
The hlaroS ran stoutly, only about eight being
lilled.
Proceedings on the accond day (youterday) were
comnmonced at about hIalf-past twelve, at which time
there wias anl attendanco of a hundred and fifty
persons, but towards the aftornoon tih number in.
croased to about five hundred. Tie hares ran with
thi samn flootness and dash as on the previous day,
only four bares falling victimn. In the Sapling
Stakes Daphno anid Hughondon ran nionly, coursing
tho haro with the judgtment of old dogs. Iolantho
was in good form for the Local StakiBs. Wild Wavo,
Wolcomo Jacr, and Country Lass wore the bust in
the Boiaton Staakos; tho latter running espooinlly
well. There wats ia gruat contest between Xixon and
Bloising. Both dogs worea maismod, but they rnll
with considorablo garmonoss, Blousing eventually
winning. Country Lnd ran well in tha Novel Selling
