AMATEUR ATHLETICS.

The council of the YATALA. met at
Bon Vista on Saturday evening, there
being present Messrs. W. J. Gibson
(chairman), E. A. Brooke, J. Gourlay,
W. Scott, V. C. Brooke, and the hon.
secretary (J A. Edwards).
1,1 was decided, in view of the date
chosen for the track championships (27th
December being within the holidays, to
postpone the events to February.
P. Turner was exonerated from all
blame in connection with the disturbance
at the top cricket' ground on the 15th
November.
It was decided to present J. D. Lucas
with a T.A.A.A. medal in view of his
record in the 3-mile C.C.C. at Launceston.
The following events were fixed for the
17th December:- WOjds... 440yds., high
I jump, and Titlyds.-hurdle, and 4-lb cycle
handicaps.
Result of track meeting was advised.
The Australasian cycle championships
were advised for the 14th and 31st March
at Brisbane.
A sub-committee was appointed to receive
and deal with nominations for Tasmanian
representatives at the Australasian
track championships to be held in
Melbourne on the 24th and 25th of
January. 2
