DAIRY COMPANY.
The annual meeting of the Taralga
Butter Company was held in the hall on
Wednesday afternoon. There was a very
large attendance of shareholders, and
keen Interest was taken in the pro
cecdings. In tile absenceof tile ehair
man of the lb'ard of directors (Mr. C.
D 'Keith). who was detainted through
sickiness, Mr. J. J. Walsh occupied
the chair,. and the remainingo directors
.and the secretary (Mr. W. M. Fitzgib
bon)'. wore also . present. In outlining
the proceedings the chairman said he
was pleased to see 'the large attendance.
The board would endeavour in their
report and balance-sheet to make
things as clear to Ithe shareholders as
possible, bhut if te'or information was
roequhircd about -anytl , he asked them
to speak freely anid' nreservddly. The
Present meeting was. the opiortunity of
ao general shareholders to make them
slves heard. le was pleased to say
the factory was nearing completion.
The Installation of maehinery'waso well
in hand, and he had the assurance of
their architect that niall would be ready
for the new season's cream. Financial

the board through ill health, and th'
shareholders were under a debt of
gratitude to him for valued services
during his term of oioes. In his place
Mr. O. C. Oodhew had been nominated,
and he was declared elected. For thec
vacancies caused by the retirement: of
directors Keith and Mahor in terms of
the articles of association, -there wore
three nominations, the retiring diroc
torn and Mr. T. L. Fltzgibbon, but Mr.
Fltzgibbon explained that he had no in
tention of opposing Messrs. Keith and
Maher--he intended his nomination for
the vacancy caused by the resignation'
of Mr. Lynch, but as it was apparently
informal for thls, he wished to with
draw.'
Messrs. Kelth and Mahiner were de
clared electeo, and Mlr. T. L. Fitzgib
bon was warmly commended for retir
ing in favour of the directors selebted.
Mossrs. Goodniew and Maher returned
thanks for. ticeir election, and for the
election of Mr. C. D. Iteloih. Mr. J. Rlgg
was elected'auditor in place of Mr: i.
C. Goodhew.
A long discussion, in which practi
cally, all present participated, 'toiok

SMr. Mlay is very pleased with tie
quclity of the work done"by.:MIr. IMor
daunt and outside the well. which is a
separate contract, there are practically
no extras. The' machinery expert
contractor (Mir. Wnrren) has his work
well in handl and expects to finish'in
ample time for the trial run.
It Is anticipated that there will he a
fair supply of cream available-'on the
1st of September, and it Is pFoposed
that operations will commence 'on that
date.
