Beautiful, bright weather prevailed for
the V.R.C. meeting at Caulfield this afternoon,
and there was a very good it
leiickuTce. The rain which had fallen
in no way interfered with the going. Details

A handicap sweepstakes of 2sovs. each,
with 2O0SOVS. added; second horse 60
boys, and third 20sovs. from the stake.

latter came away in the run home and
won by three-quarters of a length, with
Gobble four lengths off third. Lasso was

Manaro. showed the way past the mile
post from Pochee, , Positus, Rael Locin,
Chief Secretary, and High Rock. Manure
was still in front at the back of the
course, where Pochee was still in attendance,
with Posts, Rae, Locin, Chief
Secretary, and High Rock next. Mnnuio
gave way to Pochee at the home turn,
but when the straight was entered High
Rock Tan to the from" from Rael Local
and Positive, High Rock held his own
to the finish, and beat Rael Locin by half
a length, with Defence a head off third.
Then came Posilus, Lucky Escape and
Do Gama, with Manara last.

Booligal made the running to the last
fence, where Kurla joined him and, draw-
ing away, won easily by two lengths, with
AVestaway four lengths off third. Seldom
was next, and Highland Chin last.
Mynot, Ven Error, and Bullarook fell.

When they had settled down First Turn
led past the mile post from Green Cup,
Aides, Amata, and Andelosia. At the
back of the course First Trim was still
in front from Marculfus, Green Gip,
Amata, and Wishing Cap. This was the
order down the railway side to the home
him, with the field well bunched. Wish-
ing Cap. Andelosia, and Lavendo were
first into 'the straight, and at the. distance
Lavendo showed the way to Wish
j ing Cap. ride.. Andelosia, Amata, and
Green Cap. The latter turned very fast,
and caught Lavendo at the half distance,
and. coming on, beat Lavendo by a neck,
with Wishing Cap a length off third.
Then came Marculfus, First Trim, Amana
with Sylnianmoro last. Time, 2min.
