Appointments
Mr John Hoyle has been appointed
Australia's Ambassador to Yugo
slavia and Mr Robert Robertson Aus
tralia's permanent representative to
the Office of the United Nations in
Geneva.
The Minister for Foreign Affairs,
Mr Hayden, announcing the appoint
ments yesterday, said Mr Hoyle
would be resident in Belgrade and
accredited also as Ambassador to Ro
mania and Bulgaria.
Mr Hoyle, who succeeds Mr
Michael Wilson, was High Com
missioner in Jamaica in 1975-77 and
in Bangladesh in 1978-80, and has
served also in Colombo, Wellington,
Tel Aviv, Stockholm and Berlin.
Mr Robertson, who succeeds Mr
David Sadleir, was Ambassador to
Yugoslavia in 1971-73 and to Italy in
1978-81, and since 1981 has been
Deputy High Commissioner in Lon
don. He has served also in Karachi,
New York and Washington.
Wool meeting
The Wool Council of Australia,
which represents 80,000 woolgrowers,
will meet in Queanbeyan on Novem
ber 7.
Key speakers will be the managing
director of the International Wool
Secretariat, Dr John McPhee; the area
director for North America, Mr Paul
Marois; area director for Asia, Mr
Sekinc, and director of apparel ser
vices, Mr Tony Gould.
