THE NORTHERN TERRITORY OP AUSTRALIA, .
Pastoral Lands (Class 2 and 3) open to Application in Teems of Crown Lands Ordinance 1912-1018.
APPLICATIONS for Pastoral Leases of the lands described in Schedule hereunder, situated east of Newcastle Waters, will be received
a.v the Department of Home and Territories, Melbourne, or the Lands Office, Darwin,.on or before the 24th day of May, 1021.
The term of the lease shall be forty-two years.
The rent to be paid during the first twenty-one (21) years of the lease shall be as set out in Schedule hereto (No. 1).
A provision will be inserted in the lease that if the rent be not paid on or before the expiry of three (3) months from date on
which it becomes due, an addition of six (6) per centum per annum shall be made in respect of the rent overdue, and that the lease shall
be liable to forfeiture if the rent be unpaid for two (2) years or more.
Reservations.
1. The lease will contain the Reservations provided for in the said Ordinanoe, being—
(a) a right of entry and inspection;
(b) all minerals;
(c) a power of resumption;
The power of resumption can be exercised on three (3) months' notice where tHe land is required for publio purposes,
such as railways, tramways, roads, water conservation works, sites for towns, recreation grounds, cemeteries, commons,
reserves, publio buildings, or other like purposes.
Note.—Where the land to be resumed is required for any other purpose the following provisions shall apply:—
(i) Two years' notice of resumption shall be given.
(ii) The land resumed shall not include«the head station ox any of the leased area within 5 miles thereof.
(iii) No land shall be resumed within fourteen years after the date of the lease.
(d) all timber and timber trees and all trees producing bark, resin, or valuable substances;
(«) also a reservation of a right to the Crown to reserve at any time all land required for roads and reserves.
Covenants.
2. Covenants and conditions will be inserted in the lease, as follows:—
(1) That the lessee shall pay the rent annually in advance.
(2) That he will use the Land only for the purpose for which it is leased.
(3) That he will stock the land to the extent and in the manner as set out in Schedule hereto (No. 2).
(4) That he will effect improvements in providing permanent water, fencing, buildings, yards, &c., to the value as set out .in
Schedule No. 1.
Covenants (3) and (4) are subject to any extension of time for the due performance thereof which the Classification
Board may grant.
(5) A covenant by the lessee that he will erect a homestead on the leased land, and will perform the conditions of occupation
thereon, provided that occupation shall mean the residence on the land of either the lessee or his representative, not being
an alien or aboriginal. -•*
(6) A covenant by the lessee that he will comply with the laws in force relating to the destruction of vermin and noxious weeds.
(7) A covenant by the lessee that he will not, without the consent of the Director of Lands, cut any timber trees on the leased
land except for use in connexion' with the leased land.
(8) A covenant by the lessee that he will not, in clearing the land, cut any timber or timber trees or trees producing any valuable
bark, resin, or other valuable substance, sexcept as allowed by the regulations.
(9) A covenant by the lessee that he will not obstruct any public roads, paths, or ways, or interfere with the use thereof by any
person, and will not interfere with travelling stock passing through the leased land, t>r refuse to water such travelling stock
at any permanent water.
(10) A covenant by the lessee that he will not pollute, obstruct, or divert any water flowing in a defined natural except
by the consent of the Director of Lands. - -
(11) A covenant by the lessee that he will observe and comply with the regulations under the said Ordinance for the tima h»ing
in force.
(12) A covenant by the lessee that he will pay all rates and taxes which may at any time become due in respect of the leased
land.
(13) A covenant by the lessee that the lease will be liable to forfeiture for non-compliance on the part of the lessee with any
covenant or condition of the lease.

Description of Blocks.

Bibc/fc 1.—About one-third open downs, the balance heavily timbered with laneevood and liedgefrood scrub. No known water,

Block 2.—About two-thirds consists of open Mitchell and Flinders grass downs, the balance of red sandy forest country. Surface water
in the south-east corner, but duration uncertain.

Block 3.—About one-half consists of open Mitchell and Flinders grass downs, the balance heavily timbered and laneewood and. hedgewood
scrub. Water in Tondiney hole lasts for six months.

Block 4.—About one-half consists of heavy forest and laacewood and. Jjedgewood -scrubs, the balance consists of open Mitchell gra§s
and Flinders downs, withcoolibah and guttapercha flats and blue-bush swamps. Water in Mungabroom hole lasts for about three months.

Block 6.—'About 30 square miles of open Mitchell and Flinders grass downs and blue-bushiswarnps, the balance consists of sandy forest
and hedgewood scrub. No known water.

Block 6.—-Mostly sandy forest, timbered with bauhinia, supplejack, bos, gum, Ac. No known water.

Block 7.—About one-half consists of open Flinders and Mitchell grass downs with good blue-bush swamps in southern part, the
balance consists of good sandy forest country, timbered with box, bauhinia, supplejack, &c. Water in Ucharonidge hole generally lasts six

months.

Block 8.—-About three-quarters consists of red sandy forest country, timbered withironwood, bos, gum, bauhinia, supplejack, &c., the
balance consists of open well-grassed downs and blue-bush swamps, with, nardoo. No permanent surface water, but water lasts for a few months
in the Broad on the eastern boundary and in the chain of w&terholes on the western boundary.

Block 9.—About one-quarter consists of open Flinders and Mitchell grass downs, the balance is mixed forest, with spinifex in places.
Permanent surface water in Jager waterhole in northern part of block, and Iliiilerri waterhole is in centre of block* but no record exists as to
how long water lasts in it. " '

Block 10.—Mostly mi&ed forest, timbered with box, bloodwood, gum, bauhinia, supplejack, Ac., grassed with spinifex and coarse
granges. Small native well {Morvdachi1) in northern pact. *
