OBITUARY.
OLD COBURG RESIDENT.
Mr. John Collins, an old resident of
Coburg, died at his residence, Sheffield-
street, on Thursday, at the age of 81.
He came to Australia about 61 years
ago, and for many years was a munici-
pal contractor in the Brunswick-Coburg
district. Some years ago he took a
leading part in the affairs of the United
Ancient Order of Druids in Coburg. He
is survived by two sons and a daughter.
MAJOR C. XV. CAMPBELL.
The remains of the late Major Charles
W. Campbell, V.D., of AmesfioU Park,
Upper Beaconsfield, who died on Wed
nesday, were cremated yesterday morn
ing at the Spring Vale crematorium,
alter a service conducted by Rev. Dr. W.
Borland. The chief mourners were
Messrs. Colin Campbell (brother) and
Charles Gordon Campbell (only son),
Messrs. Alan Council, Douglas Klbby and
Reginald Ritchie (sons-in-law). The
pall-bearers were Messrs. Harry Cuming.
Alex. Stewart, Colin Symc, Angus Mcln-
tyre. Arthur Peck, Archie Cox, W. S.
Jones and E. Norwood. A large number
of floral tributes were conveyed by the
hearse and flornl car. The arrange
ments were carried out by A. A. Sleight
Ply. Ltd.
FUNERAL OF REV. FATHER DOLAN.
Tlie obsequies of Rev. Father M. I.
Dolan, Roman Catholic parish priest nt
St. Joseph's, Orrong-road, Elsternwick,
took place yesterday morning, and there
was a crowded congregation in the
church, Including nuns, members of
parish sodalities, pupils of the parish
schools and prefects of St. Patrick's
College, East Melbourne, whore Father
Dolan received his early education. A
choir of 150 priests chanted the solemn
ofllce. Archbishop Mannix presided,
and Bishop McCarthy and Monslgnors
Lonergan, Benson and Collins were also
in tlie sanctuary. The celebrant of
pontifical requiem Mass was Bishop
McCarthy, who was assisted by Rev.
Fathers N. A. Clack; J, Norris, M. I.
O'Brien and F. Grcenan. Archbishop
Mnnnix paid a tribute to the deceased
priest. The pupils of O'Neill College.
Elsternwick. formed a guard of honor
as the coflln was carried to the hearse.
The burial was nt the Melbourne
General Cemetery.

obsequies.
