THE REVOLUTION IN BUENOS
AYRES.
LONDON, 25th June.
Advices from Buenos Ayres state that
the revolution in that province is
ing, and is acquiring serious dimensions,
the regular troops in the provinces
having joined the rebels.
The latter advanced on the city-in
force, and a sanguinary ■ encounter
ensued between them and the national
troops. The rebels , were; comnletely
defeated, and are now in full retreat.
London, 26th June.
: Information to-day/ from Buenos
Ayres states that a desire is felt by both
sides to bring hostilities to a close, and
negotiations haying been opened ,with
that object; hopes are entertained that
peace may before long be brought about.
London, 27th June.
The negotiations, yesterday reported
as having been opened between the belli
gerents with a view to the cessation of
hostilities -have been abruptly brought
to a conclusion,. Fighting has been’ re
newed with vigor on : both sides,- and
there is no longer any present hope of
peace being established.
