  7. HUNTING KANGAROOS FOR PLEASURE AND PROFIT.

    Mr. F. W. Woolston returned recently to Morgan, after a month's kangaroo hunting on and over the borders of New South Wales. He brought back 1,111 skins for shipment direct to America. Mr. Woolston was one of a family party, including his son Leslie, his brothers, C. H. Woolston, and D. Woolston, and Mrs. D. Woolston, as cook. Their camps were at spots 60 miles above Renmark; at the 30-mile Dam, on Higgins Brothers' property, 68 miles above Renmark; at Middle Camp, Mr. G. Anderson's property, Belmore, New South Wales, 72 miles from Renmark; and at Scotia (the property of Mr. Williams, of Renmark), New South Wales. Motor cars were used for hunting, and from 12 to 40 kangaroos a day were secured, the highest tally being 48. The ... [ILLUSTRATED]
