At the opening ceremony last Wednesday Sir Ronald Munro Ferguson, Governor-General of the Commonwealth, referred to the enterprise as one in which all Australia is interested. Its raw material is drawn from mines in many parts of the country, and its product will make all the railways of the continent independent of extraneous foreign supplies.
